Pedagogy

My current teaching and learning related projects include:

  • Incorporating technical job interview concepts and questions into assessments (currently working on STA302H1)
  • Developing a suite of Python and R coding modules for undergraduate students within the Human Biology Program. A work in progress/proof of concept is available here: https://uofthmbcoding.github.io/
  • Developing new data science and biostatstics courses and curriculum for students in life science programs (currently developing HMB325H1), and identifying gaps in quantitative skills of life science graduates.
  • Developing experiential learning and work-integrated-learning opportunities within my courses (currently working on HMB342H1)
  • Creating strategies to facilitate discussion and participation within larger lectures (making larger classes more like seminars!)
